Cut day is the hardest day of the year. Old draft picks are sent packing, aging role players are shown the door. Anyone sad to see anyone go? I have two:
cornerback Mac Breland - I think we spent a third or fourth round pick on him, but he just didn't pan out in our defense. He performed so poorly against other teams' #2 receiver that he was on the bench by the end of the season. My chemistry being better with Deville ready to lead the secondary sealed it. It's a shame, Breland was a good player once.
SLB Ryan Hastings - Ryan will forever be remembered for his lone sack that occured in the closing minutes of the third quarter against Lansing last year in weed 17 that turned the game around:
The ensuing punt gave us field position on the 42 and an easy FG drive to take the lead for good, 17-14.
Godspeed boys, godspeed.
