  • Pre-season game plan questions

Is there any benefit to playing starters in PS? I know I read that there is no rust factor so playing starters can only end up in them getting injured. Do they gain exp?

If I do play a starter and I put their playing time at 1, will they play a series or 2 and then leave the game for good?

The game automatically puts your scrubs in for most of the 2nd half. There's a cohesion benefit for playing your guys, and yes, the more players play, the more they tend to develop. However you have to balance that with injury risk. It's a personal call, some guys sit their studs all preseason, other's don't.

I always sit all my old starters, and play my starters that are young and still have time to develop. I'm trying not to play anyone with a history of injuries. I have a high injury risk though, YMMV.

Like Bigg's said. I wouldn't play a guy who has maxed his potential. IMO you're doing more damage by risking injury than any gains there.

Young players are up to you. I personally play rookies, even if I project them to start because I want to get the 'current' up as much as possible. I'd basically play any starter who has room to grow, and who I could replace with a temp solution through FA or backup. (unless the rookie is a super stud, but I don't have any of those).

For example, Beckner will play 3, maybe all 4 games. Pierce *might* play a game or two because I can replace him with Padron, but Grant will not be playing at all.

If I play guys like Pierce, they play in the first 2 games. I never play any potential starter in the 4th game.

So do you leave the "playing time" on your normal regular season number or do you move it down to 2-4 range?
