Dumb question

OK, here's my situation. I'm using both my elicense's, one on my desktop at home, and the other on my work laptop.

Everything works fine, until I take my laptop outside of work or away from my home wireless connection.

When I'm travelling and I connect my laptop to a hotel LAN, I get a funny error and the license screen pops up. Am I missing something?
Another situation happened to me today. I was lined up waiting in line for an automatic car wash, so I thought I'd whip out the laptop and check out some Imperial football while I was waiting. I got the funny error and the license screen popping up. In this situation, I was not connected to the internet at all.

Did I install the game wrong? Any ideas?

Is the error described at all in this FAQ? Maybe the Error 23?

All I know is that you shouldn't have to be on the internet to play the game. Totally sounds like some kind of e-license problem though.

today it came up with a box and said

when I clicked OK, it came to the elicense screen. I had the ability to hit the license key, but I didn't want to fuck things up and not have game access at work for a day.

It just seems odd.

Honestly I can't say why it would do that. I have always run the game on a laptop, on my home network, on other networks, off any network. Never had a problem with the license.
