Lets put it this way. Im about fuckin fed up with the lax attitude people are taking. Theres a god damn utility people, fill it up and turn it the fuck on if you arn't gonna be around all damn day. I dont get pissed off easily but as someone who was all for a relaxed schedule this 5 hour thing obviously isnt working. Just because you have 5 hours to make a pick doesnt mean you should be inconsiderate of the other 31 owners in the league.Originally posted by P. LuxxIs it always this tedious?I luv British womenz.

I agree but it is a learning process and IFL powers that be will probaably adjust going forward
Also as the time grows shorter the need for a list increases so they will be used more speding things up making list more important. Its a cycle.sigpic

The problem is, and this is not meant as a shot to any GM because they are playing by the rules we all decided upon, people are sitting on the clock because they can. Today was held up by two trades, and yesterday was held up by another potential trade (can't remember if that one was ever made though).
5 Hours for the first round is perfectly legit, however, I doubt most people will use the entire time allotted in the first round. However, in the 2nd and later rounds, the time limit is more likely to be used fully. Why? Many people do not like the talent in the later rounds and are going to dangle trade bait out there for as long as possible in the hopes that someone is going to cave and work out a deal in which they get higher picks in future drafts.

Well, we are starting to get too impatient.
Albuquerque was working a trade. I don't care if it was up against his time deadline, it takes time to do things like post the trade, and move the picks.
Well, a mod (who I do not know) made the pick for 2-28 in the middle of the moving of the picks. So Oakland got a player he did not want.
Now we are on hold until that pick can be taken off. Luckily the next pick isn't do until the morning so thigs shouldn't get screwed up that way.
I didn't want these longer time windows for picks, but I sure as hell am not going to sit and watch people get impatient now because of them when this is what was wanted. My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

I play by the rules. I was told by Hawkster at 7:43 that he would be making his pick. I ended up making a pick for him at 7:52.Originally posted by CringerWell, we are starting to get too impatient.

OK, I recieved this trade about 10 minutes ago. I have choosen, TE Patrick Blair. But, because the clock was over, LT Darrell Steed was selected. Cring is working on this issue, however, I believe the draft can continue unless you want Steed. Again, I only took 10 minutes once I recieved the pick.

And for the record, because I just now backtracked and saw some rather upset people, I saw this this trade offer 20 minutes ago. I PM'ed my offer, and 4 minutes later, Hawk said, "you want it, it's yours". I took roughly 7 minutes to look through the players and make my decision on Blair. I logged into the utility to see that the LT Steed had been selected for me.
I then contacted Cring. The entire thing on my side took less then 15 minutes.
I went as fast as I could all, sorry.

Besides being told "fuck off man" by you, I'm no mad at you. I'd just like to know if guys have 5 hours to pick or 5 hours and a few minutes if you are trying to make a deal during the last hour of five.Originally posted by JaveAnd for the record, because I just now backtracked and saw some rather upset people, I saw this this trade offer 20 minutes ago. Yes, I always thought the reason to have a longer clock in leagues like this was because people had lives and couldn't sit around the computer all day. That's totally fair and understandable.Originally posted by WarhammerThe problem is, and this is not meant as a shot to any GM because they are playing by the rules we all decided upon, people are sitting on the clock because they can.
What I think bothers people is those who run out the clock, like you said, because they can. I wonder if next year, we should put in a system like this... a draft clock, then a live clock. You get x hours on your pick to check in and say you're around, then you have 15-30 mins max to make your selection or trade your pick away to someone else who is around, then they have 15-30 mins.
Of course this would have to be by the honor system that people are checking in when they're back from whatever RL thing they were at, and they're on the clock, but I think it would send the message that the 3-5 hour clock is more to help people *not* miss a pick, it isn't to give people 3-5 hours to work the best trade possible.
It may be a stupid suggestion, but I think we definitely need more suggestions how to make an efficient draft work around 32 people who all have lives outside of the IFL. I'm not pointing fingers, or picking a fight with anyone. Every year we go through the same thing regardless if it's a 5 hour clock or a 2 hour clock.
I'm bringing it up now because I know when this draft is finished, we'll forget how sucky it is in a week or two and not even talk about the rules. When draft times were mentioned a few weeks ago, there was little talk of it.Steve Beans - Houston Renegades

Yeah it sucks it took until the time was almost up before guys pulled a trade. But it is not like they were sitting on their asses. They were moving picks in the utility, posting about the trade, and all that. That takes a few minutes, I will allow that.My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I like the league so far, regardless.

Yea, and I am sorry for this. Being that I did not have a pick untill the 4th round, I have not been paying one bit of attention to the draft. I am in the living room watching Cops, and I come in here and see that the pick is being traded. I post an offer for shit and giggles, and get the response that its mine. So, I am like, SHIT, I have not even LOOKED at the draft yet, but I know every player on my team by heart, including what holes I want to fill, so, I accept the trade, look through the players for a few minutes, and pick one.Besides being told "fuck off man" by you, I'm no mad at you. Bla bla bla, but I had no idea that the pick had been on the board for 5 hours, so I get the pick, and.....no shit, 4 seconds later, you tell me, FUCK DUDE, PICK A PLAYER. Thats why I told you to fuck off. My bad Jeff, and I am sorry. I wouldn't have got into this shit if I had know what had happened.

If you give people five hours, then people should be allowed to take five hours. It's tedious to me and my preference would be for less time and more use of the pref list. But that's just one opinion out of 32 and totally subjective.
Having said that, New Mexico has until 5 or 6 am to shop his next pick around...
