  • West Virginia.....and the cap.

Well, things got interesting while I was gone.

If West Virginia's lost cap space for next year goes much higher (I am talking maybe only a million dollars or so) then I will be taking over all roster transactions until I see fit.

Vancouver's former owner pushed the limit last year with what i am willing to allow.

West Virginia is there now. It is going to kill that team.

Does this mean I should stop my negotiations for Wililam Simpson?

It's possible though for some deals by WVA to actually help their cap situation next year, like trading/releasing Jay Lambert. It would create $1.2 million in dead space, but give $1.9 million in cap relief.

This can happen to anyone who starts letting their cap problems get too out of control by the way.

Simpson will not be traded. I won't allow it. I am sorry you get screwed on this MrBigg, but I won't let this team get into a worse situation then it is now.

West Virginia just seemed to be lacking an offseason gameplan. Three guys (Gribble, Bannon, and Spangler) were given extensions (including 20+ mill in bonuses) and then traded. One of those guys (Gribble?) was traded during the same stage that he was re-signed.

Actually, in my defense. Still trying to finagle this cap system, especially accelarated bonuses. Damn. I tried to get under the cap. Much to my demise, I solicited advise on how to do this a little too late. And the consensus was to basically try to trade my biggest cap hits. Unfortunately, I had already sent renegotions out prior to obtaining the advice. And I proceeded to shop the trades. Thus my delima

So forgive me. I've now got a plan in place. And hopefully in 2 seasons, I'll be back in playoff form.

Mistakes happen, just avoid all sports talk radio and public locations in West Virginia for the next 2 seasons. Jk

Ok. I just wanted to make sure you had not gone mad or anything. After all, there are a couple of guys in this league who know from the USFL that a cap can get pretty bad pretty quickly.
