  • 2007 Draft Class

Any thoughts on the draft class?

My initial reaction was this is the first draft class with NO great QBs. There are a few interesting prospects, but it is certainly not up there with the 2005 or 2006 QB classes.

The RBs are interesting as well. I don't think there is a Tim Austin in the group, but there are certainly some intriguing players that could do well if they go to the right teams.

There seems to be very little help in the OL positions, so it appears that a few centers may change positions.

The WR and TE positions are deep, so it appears that you should get a good player possibly in the 3rd round.

On defense we finally get a good ILB class with 5 players that could start their first year. However, the OLBs are not in the same universe as the class we had last year.

On the DLine, the DTs look poor, however, the DEs go 7 deep as far as immediate help is concerned.

If you need help at CB, this is the draft for you. It looks like quality CBs go 10 deep this year. S has some good potentials, but no one performed well at the combine.

Overall, this is going to be one odd draft. Positions that are typically scarce have a good number of valuable players, which decreases their value for the draft. The positions that are typically rich in talent have very little this year.

Curious as to why Raymod Webb has no stats from his 2006 college season. Just noticed that the draft files Cringer released a week or so ago were from the end of 2005 and not 2006, so I can only guess that he was suspended as he was an 87/100 guy his Junior year.

Edit: LOL.. Webb is 5'11" 231 lbs.

Edit #2: Meh, I messed up my TCY files, so I made the mistake. Webb was indeed academically suspended.

Yup quiet. I have been wanting to get to this stuff though. You pointed out the DE was suspended, I wanted to point out that so was Nebraska RB Nicky Kersey. He started on year in college though, 2005. He had 1616 yards, 4.4 ypc, and 15 TDs as a redshirt Junior. He played little as a sophmore.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.
