  • Some off-seaseon newb questions

Right now it says I have negatvie dollars available for new players. I assume this is in regards to FA's., But it says I have $5M under the cap. Is this money only used for draft picks?

So will I need to cut players in order to sign players that I drafted?

Hope that made sense and thanks for any help.

You are pretty much correct with this.

The 'max for new player' is your available cap money (5.12 million) minus the expected cost of your draft picks.

If you want to have money to sign players your are going to want to free up some cap room.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

i would add that you can do a lot of resigning of deals to free space. This is basic cap restructuring deals. Sometimes you rob from future years to get the cap adjusted this year. SOmetimes you dump players. Just depends on your strategy.

Is there any good rule of thumb in regards to ticket prices?

Early last year I had a feeling I would be much better then I had previously been so I jacked up my ticket prices assuming that once the fans saw how successful I was, they would pay up and come in droves.
Boy was I a fucking idiot!!

Not only did they NOT come, they expressed their displeasure by not showing on on principle! Despite my run to the IFL bowl, even in the conference championship game, my attendence was a horribly low 48,000, or some shit close to that number. I had the lowest attendence in the league despite being the second most successful team in the league.

Based on my experience, try to stay as close to the computer suggestion as you can. It will save you a ton of heartace, and cold hard cash.

The financial aspect of the game is somewhat limited in terms of its impact on the game, so I don't know if there have been any detailed studies. I tend to treat it like real life though, raise them 5% or so if everything sold out, lower them if nobody came last year, etc, adjusting for how well my team did last year.
