  • Best addition this year?

Who do you think your most valuable addition was this year? Was it who you thought it would be?

My most valuable addition wound up being Courtney Cleeland. The guy was an absolute stud on defense, leading the team in sacks, second in passes defensed, and third in total tackles. All this from a rookie, plus he had a couple of forced fumbles as well as a fumble returned for a TD.

I thought our best addition was going to be Neal Khan at WR, and though he was a solid contributor, he was not the deep threat I hoped he would be. However, much of this was due to the decline of Maxwell Rouse, as defenses could key in on Khan more.

My surprise breakout player was Dave Billings, even though he was our 3rd WR on the depth chart, he hauled in more catches than any of our other WRs.

Since I didn't really have any major FA pick ups, I would have to say rookie kicker Ross Mosley was my best addition. He went 29 for 34 on FGs. Team record for me.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

Whenever I see "Ross Mosely" I think "Mos Eisley". I'm a nerd

The new player that had the biggest impact for me was quarterback Jerome Mueller. He was 7-4 as a starter, set the team record for QB rating in a season (admittedly not a high bar to cross), and vastly improved his ratings over the course of the season. Right now he is a really good back-up, and maybe with a good boom could become a decent starter.

Runner-Up: Middle linebacker Timothy Canterbury was signed fairly cheaply from the FA market and led the league in tackle % (for players over 40 tackles). Not much help in pass defense though, which drops his ranking.

I ended up going with basically the same setup as last year, though I lost a few on the D, I covered up with rookies.. didn't sign a single starter as FA, despite having high hopes on some... Mackowski ended up taking the RDE-slot despite lower ratings, but I'm comfortable with that. Charlie Summers, my second round SLB-pick, has played better than expected as well.

My biggest issue has been the secondary, but last year's first rounder Damon Dawkins has handled the added responsibility well and I'm pleased with his performance.

So, no new faces have dominated for me this year... all Virgil....

If you ever go to get rid of him, I got dibs on him, ok?

Even though he was going to be a RFA, I made sure I signed him fairly cheap this season in case his demands went up. So he should be around for at least two seasons because of Mann's and Pittsburgh's injury problems. You're the first person I'd talk to though

My most valueable addition was Daniel Rich in a trade with Murfreesboro, despite the fact that many felt I overpaid for him, he did better then expected...

My let down of the year. WR Mercury Halbert, I think much of this was due to the loss of JC for much of the year.

I had 2 major surprises this year...

Offensive surprise. QB Mulcahey was my biggest surprise. I did not expect him to play as much as he did, he responded with 2307 yards, 20 TDs and 93.7 passer rating.

Defensive surprise. DE Trent Hayden with 12.5 sacks and 52 tackles (More then double last years totals).

That trade actually cost ya virtually zip this year - and I knew Rich would have a field day with the WRs on the fire.

I've been keeping up with him - what like 8TDs and no drops after the first week on the new team. He was a stud for the Mules but I knew I could not afford to keep him.

Still gotta franchise and sign him long term though

Yeah I will franchise him for sure, I have also positioned myself to where I can franchise him in years to come should a long term deal not be worked out

I'd have to say my most valuable addition was Julio Grant. He did everything I could ask for out of a rookie tackle, and I expect only bigger things from him in the future. Runner up on my team would be my kicker Whiting who got better as the season went on, and my rookie DE Pierce. I didn't have any big impact FA's, only draft picks.

I'd say the bigger factor was trading for a ball-hogging tight end.

I'd say my biggest addition this year was Daniel Currie. He played far better than his ratings suggest. His stat line reads 40 KRB in 101 KRO with only 1 sack aloud.
I had to give up a 3rd rounder for him, but I feel like I was forced to make a deal after my other guard went in the shitter.

I was happy with his performance, and hope he continues his success with my team

lol - Rich is effecient not a ballhog. He catches like 75% of targeted passes and knows where the FD and GL are at making the majority of his catches meaningful as well. I hated to let him go I did. 8)

Currie seemed to play better than his ratings for me too. It hurt to give him up to a division rival but I was cutting him otherwise.

well if you were cutting him, you should be happy you got my 3rd rounder for him.

I felt compelled to get a G. I probably overpaid for him, but I think it was worth it.
