YOu can release your players, and you can re-sign your players. You just can not sign free agents.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

I have another quick question. Do players gain ability during the playoffs? Do mentors work in the playoffs?

        I'll add another question.

Is there any benefit to releasing a player now even though his contract ends after this season?

Not really. Unless you really want to cut ties with him. If you let a guy just go into free agency, you wouldn't have a hard time re-signing him at a later point. If you cut him now, you'd probably never be able to sign him again. That message that goes like, "Due to past injustices my client is unwilling to sign with you" is what you'll run into.

My bet would be yes, but who really knows?
