Are ya ready buddy? 1 more go around, 4th year in a row it comes down to the wire.
Lets take a look back shall we?
2003 WEEK 8
St. Louis (2-4) vs Louisiana (4-3)
What If? You had a 1 1/2 game lead, could have extended here. What if you win this game? Does history go in another direction? Do you roll thru the season with no real pressure and begin a dynasty?
Instead we put on the most amazing defensive display in IFL history. 4 Interceptions returned for scores, 3 of them by Charles Yon. We romp 44-16 and start a blood rivalry that lasts to this day.
2003 WEEK 11
St. Louis (4-5) vs Louisiana (5-4)
A defensive struggle all the way, another chance for you to put distance between us and you come up short again, losing 15-10 and giving us the season tie-breaker and eventual Division Title.
2005 WEEK 17
St. Louis (10-5) at Louisiana (11-4)
You were at home, a win would end the suffering and give you a Division crown after 2 straight tie breaker loses.
Trailing 10-6 to open the 2nd half you kick off and watch in horror as backup CB Raphael Shine cruises 95 yards for a TD, a 17-6 lead and all the air in your team deflates. We go on to win 17-13 and claim a 3rd straight Division Crown, we also go on to win the Imperial Bowl as you sit at home and again are forced to mutter "next year, next year, next year" over and over.
2006 WEEK 7
St. Louis (2-4) At Louisiana (3-3)
Like a tape on a loop, you can put distance between us with a win at home and pretty much end our season for all intents and purposes. Instead we play another bloody ballgame that culminates in a Boyce Hedden 49 yard FG in the final seconds to send you home with another heartbreaking loss.
So now here we are again. Week 15, both of us stand at 7-6, a win by us pretty much wraps up the Division for us despite the horrid season i've had. We've played 7 games, it's 5-2 Cardinals with every big game being won by us. Are you ready my friend? Are you ready to Rock & Roll?
