  • Week 13 Playoff Picture, Week 14 & 15 Preview

    AFC
    1. Albequerque 10-2 Closer and closer they get to homefield advantage.
    2. Cleveland 8-4 Slip sliding but still in a very good position to win the Division.

    3. Norfolk 8-4 Steady and impressive, have taken the lead in the East and look prepared for another run at glory.
    4. Louisiana 7-5 In all likelyhood will battle St. Louis for the Division and a Playoff spot, whats new?

    5. Anchorage 8-4 Having a stellar season, could be a big time sleeper in the playoffs.
    6. Montreal 7-5 Slowly eroding Clevelands lead, always seem on the cusp of the next level, is now their time?

    OUTSIDE LOOKING IN
West Virginia 7-5 A baffling team, continue their regression, need to step it up.
    St. Louis 6-6 See Louisiana.
Fresno 6-6 Fighting like mad dogs to stay in the race.

    OVERVIEW
Albequerque looks to be on as solid a footing as can be with 4 weeks left, but nothing is wrapped up.
The #2 seed down to the #6 seed is a huge jumble still but Montreal has wins over WV and Fresno head to head, which is a big plus if they don't overtake Cleveland.

    THE BOTTOM LINE
Things will be a ton clearer after this double shot weekend.

    NFC
    1. Vermont 9-3 Has the Division all but locked up.
    2. Little Rock 9-3 A tougher road than Vermont, but obviously in a good position.

    3. Oakland 8-4 In a good position but could go either up or down depending on how they play.
    4. Dakota 7-5 Once again the North features a race where a Division title may needed to make the playoffs.

    5. Columbia 8-4 In a fairly good position, but both teams below them are very solid.
6a. Salt Lake City 7-5 Fighting for Wild Card and Division, final game of the season vs Oakland should be huge.
6b. Lawrence 7-5 Lawrence is in trouble because they arn't gonna win their division, a much tougher road.

    OUTSIDE LOOKING IN
Pittsburgh 6-6 A Division title is Pitts biggest and most realistic hope right now.
Tulsa 6-6 A solid team in a hard ass conference. Not out of it, but needs a good run of games, starting now.

    OVERVIEW
Once again, nothing is clear other than Vermont having their Division pretty much wrapped up.
It's a 4 team race for the top 2 seeds and a 9 team race for the 6 spots. Nothing is settled.

BIG GAMES COMING UP ON THIS DOUBLE SHOT WEEKEND
    WEEK 14
Anchorage 8-4 AT Salt Lake City 7-5 Huge game for both teams, as good as they've both been neither can afford a loss.
Dakota 7-5 AT Norfolk 8-4 2 Division leaders trying to hold on to thin leads, big implications.
Lawrence 7-5 AT St. Louis 6-6 A loss for either team hurts big time at this point, not an elimation game but close.
Montreal 7-5 AT Little Rock 9-3 Both teams need to keep momentum, loser isn't dead but the winner is very happy.
Oakland 8-4 AT Albequerque 10-2 Huge game for Oakland, a win here really increases their odds.

    WEEK 15
    Fresno AT Anchorage
    Louisiana AT St. Louis
    Montreal AT Cleveland

I'm pretty sure the only way I could get into the playoffs would be by stringing four victories in a row and there is probably a 5% chance of that happening.

I'm curious to see what my tragic number is this week. Last week I believe it was 2, and since I won and LOU lost, it should have remained the same, correct?

                3. Oakland 8-4 In a good position but could go either up or down depending on how they play.
I'm with ya here. We have made huge improvments, but is it enough? Is Oakland for real? I honestly don't know yet.
The loss of Mitchell for the year is huge. He was really starting to gell with the team, already surpassing his career stats for the year with 42 tackles, 16 assists, 6.5 sacks, 4 blocks and 29 QB hurries. I didn't do the math, but I believe that surpasses his first 3 years in the league combined!

The good news is, I am able to plug Nelson back in at right defensive end, and with veterans at both the defensive tackles positions, that will at least plug a hole. The bad news is, that same lineup was less then impressive last year.

This weeks game with Albuqerque will tell me alot about my teams ability to play with the top teams in the league. Doing a bit of research, their schedule was less then impressive, with wins over powerhouses Murfreesboro, Iowa City and Boston, I feel we have a serious shot at winning. The games I was really looking at to gauge how good they were, was SLC, Anchorage and Fresno. Losing to SLC, and splitting with Anchorage tells me they are possiblly overrated. It's hard to tell with such a weak schedule.

My team matches up well with them. Without giving away any gameplanning tips, I call it Oakland 34-Albuqerque 27.

Well the poor bastard's parents named him Kelly, forever confusing anyone of his gender based solely on his name.

There's a snack food named Wheat Crisps. I just reversed it. Of course, I could make up some random ass story about his running style being so hot he'd leave his opponents burnt to a crisp, or perhaps his running style is just crisp. But in all reality, the first thing that popped into my head was food, so yeah....

Did I mention he slept with Bucky Beaver's sister?

Odd that the press never made a huge deal about it. Bucky doesn't really like to talk about it, but his sister is actually his brother. See, he's a transvestite.

                            Ouch.
