What did I do wrong? I went thru and set my starters out most on inactive and when I downloaded todays files. A completely different group of players where listed as inactive. I ended up losing 2 players that where (Atleast to the best of my knowledge) inactive for this weeks game.

    Where did I screw up?

Sorry I couldn't check this for you, but I was gone. Usually it is something small that guys just overlook sometimes though, even MP vets do it once in a while. Something like the wrong number of active guys for a position group (like 8 total o-linemen) could have been it, that one is an easyone for guys to get screwed on.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

Yeah I am sure I goofed somewhere... Oh well I needed to free Cap space next year. So when Brockway gets off this injury and is in the teens next year, I guess he will see the door.

Before adjusting your depth charts, you need to have a minimum number of players at each position. The minimums for each position are as follows:

          Quarterback: 3
          Running Back: 2
          Fullback: 1
          Tight End: 2
Wide Receiver (Flankers and Split Ends): 4
          Center: 1
          Offensive Guard: 2
          Offensive Tackle: 2
          Punter: 1
          Kicker: 1
          Defensive End: 2
Defensive Tackle: 2 (1 if you play a 3-4 defense)
Inside Linebacker: 1 (2 if you play a 3-4 defense)
          Outside Linebacker: 2
          Cornerback: 3
          Safety: 2

The remaining 16 active players may be distributed at any position. However, you must also have a minimum number of players for each position group. Those minimums are as follows:

Backfield Members (Running Backs, Fullbacks): 4
Offensive Linemen (Centers, Guards, Tackles): 8
Defensive Linemen (Defensive Ends and Defensive Tackles): 6 (5 if you play a 3-4 defense)
Linebackers (Inside and Outside): 5 (6 if you play a 3-4 defense)
          Secondary (Cornerbacks and Safeties): 7

This gives you an effective minimum of 41 active players and a maximum of 46. Any less than 41, with the positions distributed as above, and the computer AI will definitely make changes to your lineup at the start of a simulated game. Players who are listed as "out" in the injury report may not be made active for a game.
From the help file, everything you ened to know to make a legal depth chart. And if you sign a player conditionally, the player you are dropping can't be on the depth chart if the export is for a game. Otherwise you end up with a blank in the depth chart and the AI takes over.

Also, during preseason, the amount of playing time factors differently. a 5(average) is less in preseason than it is in regular season. It is also worth more in a playoff game. So a 1 in preseason is barely touch the field, in regular it is sometimes, and in the playoffs it is occasionally.

          Hoper that helps.
