  • Changing Positions revisited

Ok, this topic has been discussed a bit, but I have another one. I'm thinking of switching Watson from SILB to just MLB, but his 'current' ratings drop quite a bit (around 15pts). Is it really worth it to make such a change?

I've always wondered about guards and tackles too. Should someones position be changed for good if they're a RG and you want them to play LG all season? (for example).

Now, obviously for DT -> DE, OBL -> MLB, T -> G, etc those are positions you really want to switch them for good, but little things like LDT to RDT make me wonder. Thanks!

I switched my LG and RG this off season . .there was no change in future, and a barely noticable change to current.

If the box that jumps up and tells you almost no change, it is worth it. . if it is a change that sets the plpayer back a year or two in development, and you can live with it, do it.

If you can't live with the change. . don't do it. . .

Yea, most of the changes have that box that says no difference, only current experience, but sometimes that's pretty large. I think only 1 the current exp dropped 5 points, most were 8-15 pts of current exp.

I also heard the changes aren't always accurate. After Cringer puts it through, I guess there is some difference, like it's less of a 'current exp' hit sometimes.

You should play him out of position until week 11 then make the change right before week 12.

experience has a lot to do with a change. . a very young player usually takes a bigger hit in current .. I have also heard that intelligence plays a rolein the chage. . .some players are too dumb to know the diff between left and right I guess. . .

Also, if they have a high votality, and they take a big current drop, they may end up "busting" on the way back.

Bump how about draft picks should I change them before training camp? Im thinking about switching a couple of lineman since it bumps them up a couple points...

Looks like Munguia made the change to TE alright.

i thought that its easier for a younger player to switch then a veteran. after 8 or so seasons at the same position it would be hard to switch versus a rookie or 2nd year player whos still developing. am i wrong? i havent really experimented with this all that much.

I have found more luck with switching rooks than I have with vets. I will point out that my defense last year fell apart after Martin was inserted back into the lineup at WILB when he has played as an MLB. It might just be a coincidence though.

I would switch him as soon as possible if you want to switch him.
