  • Salary cap questions

I have about $6 million in cap room, but my rookie pool number is taking up around $7 million of that. I'm pretty sure that I can't sign FA's when I am in negative numbers because of the rookie pool, is that correct?

But what about players traded to my team? For instance with Joe Bailey, do I have to put my available cap space above his salary + the rookie pool before he can be put onto my team?

rookie pool $ doesnt restrict you from signing players. that money isnt actually used up yet, it just gives you a guide of what to spend. you can actually use up all $6 million if you want, and say fuck the rookies.

I think you'll be able to sign FA's even with the rookie pool being higher than your available money, but I'll check that to make sure.

The trade will be able to go through as is, so that lends me to believe that I'll be correct with my first assumption.

Yeah, I'll just take GWB's word. You should be set.

Here is another stupid question that I should know:

I have a player with a 9 week injury. Does that change at all until the preseason starts? Or will he still have a 4 week injury at the start of the season?

No more time comes off of injuries until preseason. The 26 or so weeks that progressed when the season end button is hit cover the whole offseason.
