  • I'm back!

For what its worth, I am online once more, and on a visit to Gulfport, most of the city has power, now all we need is jobs, and water, and to get the old powerlines and poles off the street........etc........
IT was great to see my city at least moving again, and no more military helecopters and tanks cruising the streets.
I stopped by my job and they are gutting the store and starting over, so I will be here in Mobile for awhile. My job, THANKFUCKING GOD, is STILL paying me my average pay for the hours I worked over the last 6 months(averaged 55  ), so I have money, and I will start at the Mobile location soon has I feel like it.
Its great to be back all, and now to recover from these injuries and kick the shit out of SLC next season!!!!!

its too bad they were more worried about looters. That is a shame they had to cruise around in tanks. Hey get out of that tank put that gun down and help someone. lol as you can see I didn't vote for bush...

Nice news Jave. Glad your work is doing what it is doing for you. News on your kids yet?

I drove through the area kind of last night on my way home. Came down I-59 to I-12 and over this way. Hard to see shit in the dark, with a little misty fog. That just made what I could see more fucked up. I know I-59 fairly well, and well, there used to be a lot more trees along the road. I could see a bunch piled up on the side of the road, and I could see the guardrails all fucked up from trees falling on them. Mississippi hasn't put any road signs back up and just about all of them were knocked down from Hattiesburg down, along with billboards. Trees left standing were stripped down with little left for branches.

Louisiana had road signs up again already it looked like, odd that they moved so fast on those. Was harder to see the damage in LA, but I know it was there. Power looked like it was on everywhere, which means the 5,000,000 utility trucks parked in just about every parking lot I could see were doing their jobs I guess. Saw several more military trucks bring stuff down I-59 toward the area too. Last thing I noticed was all the activity. It was 4:00 AM on a Saturday morning, and with all the cars going around you would think it was right before the morning rush on a weekday.

Anyways, thats my little story. I have been through some bad areas, and even though I couldn't see a lot last night, it left a pretty good impression on me.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

For the most part, N.O. was on the west side of the storm, keeping them from the majority of the wind damage. 98% of their damage was caused by the levy breaking(didn't Led Zepplen write a song about that?) pouring millions of gallons of water into the city. Gulfport and Biloxi were on the east side, recieving the full brunt of the wind damage, destroying at least 60% of the city, and damaging the majority of the other homes and businesses.
If you had driven I-10 east, you would have seen just a taste of the devestation the storm did to our area. My road still has downed power lines and poles sitting on the road, yet they have already replaced those, and the area now has power.

I have never seen anything like it.

Yeah, I know I would have seen more if I went on I-10 through MS. The thing about the road signs though, was that most if not all were down in MS on I-59. Along with all those trees....a ton of trees. But then I crossed in LA and the signs were back. So they had to have put them back up already, since I am talking about a difference of 5-10 miles on the same north-south road. Just something I noticed, since I am in the habit of reading 99% of road signs....
