  • Time to Moan About Your Draft Class

I'm sure we will have much more to complain about after PS2. But I thought this was one of the worse drafts across a few of my leagues that I have seen recently.

I was pleased to land K.C. Carlisle, who jumps to 14th on the green page after the DE conversion. And TE Brady Athanas could be future pro-bowl material after some development. But the rest of my selections look like garbage. I didn't like CB Henry Godlewski as a 2nd round pick and even less now.

This is much less than the IWC 2057 class where we drafted three 70+ players.

I'd like to complain about whoever was making the picks in Vancouver. They repeatedly drafted players at the same position and there is no way they all fit on the roster. Idiots in charge over there.

Also some moans about the people drafting right in front of me who had a knack for drafting guys off my list, like Tom and Mellman.

The draft review gave us an A+, which feels like certain death in PS2.

I am fairly confident the team draft grade reflects draft picks based on team needs and not based on the quality of the draft.

And sorry I stole that RB-WR conversion project in front of you!!! In the future, draft those guys in round 1!!!

It did feel like the quality after the top tier players dropped drastically We shall see after PS2, but I feel like Houston with Isaiah Gooding got some insane value out of that pick. Personally I'm happy with the way my draft shook out. I had to give up some future picks, but I feel like I got quite a bit of value out of the first 3 rounds.

Tom, do you have a sense of what the Green Page is built on?

Seeing that middling 2nd year QB on there isn't particularly reassuring

This was purely a domino effect of Dawgfan drafting guys I liked before me after round 2. Pleased to have two guys on the green list and that young safety looks to have good bars but we will see after the actual reveal/PS2!

That's a great question but I don't have much insight. The game does appear to weight positions differently. For example, my scout has three safeties with 60+ future. DE Anthony is on the green page at mid-50s, but the safeties are not.

With the regard specifically to your QB question, some of that is due to the "fog of war" (i.e., scout error). I see those QBs as pretty solid. Your OC is not good at scouting while the IWC OC has a great scout bar.

I agree. My draft philosophy has also changed in the last 2-3 drafts, and the jury is still out whether it was a smart move. Mine, at this point looks meh, but I have some guys on my roster that look meh (Jane) but play like Tarzan. Hoping my drafts find some more of those latter guys.

Looking at this draft before hand, outside the top 5 picks I didn't like it at all. I haven't seen anything post draft to change my view, but I too will be keeping an eye on PS2.

Holy Saving Private Ryan. My rookie class is laying somewhere on Omaha Beach. Ouch. At least 1/2 my draft class is at risk of being cut. My best pick was my 4th rounder (traded it for a future one). My draftees from last year are looking pretty good, but this one, mowed down by the machine gun nest.

A mixed bag in IWC, but mostly positive. Both DE K.C. Carlisle and TE Brady Athanas had good camps and should have future pro-bowl seasons. S Zach Volk improved, which was a pleasant surprise. UDFA RB Joel Barton could be an RB2. And the really nice surprise was QB Otis Engram - he might be our future QB after Flad retires.

The rest of the picks were duds.

I'm happy with ratings day this year. My first 4 picks range from solid starter to all pro capability with the worst out of those 4 picks being my 2nd round CB. My 4th round RB looks like he could be a good spot starter if Arreola goes down and also be a capable 3rd down back If I need him to be. My picks from last year held their ratings. The veteran nerf stick didn't hurt as much either.
