gameplan only somewhat compatible

tried to load my gameplan and I got that message. says "this game plan is not for this exact playbook. However, it's possible it will still work, especially if plays have only been added or mildly edited. do you wish to continue?"

I tried saying yes but it's definitely not the exact gameplan I made or tried to use last game.

Does this mean I need to have my playbook reloaded via commish? Am i doing something wrong when I try to edit my playbook inseason?

It sounds like you deleted a play from your playbook that was used in your game plan. You would need to either add the play back to the playbook or remove it from the game plan. Not sure if there is an easy method to identify the play.

i made the playbook from scratch after having problems the previous weeks getting mine called. I guess I am just hoping for advice on what to do in the future to avoid all this

That was my point. If you edit a play (actually, you need to delete the play and then add a new one), you also need to be sure that play is not in your GP. If it is, remove that specific play from the GP.
