I am at a total loss here. my run %s for first and second down were 58%. I ran the ball 12% of the time overall. threw a billion passes to the target I have selected as my third option. Double teams for my defense seemingly randomly applied to their receivers. my fg range is set to 52 yards, I punt from their 35. I would actually like to learn and get better, games like this teach me nothing beyond I have no damn control of this. someone, please school me on how i fix this as it's really not fun to watch the gameplan completely flipped 180 degrees on me and I pass the ball 58 times despite leading for the majority of the game.

I'll try to help. But there will be some assumptions without knowing your GP. First, the in-game 58% pass/run number is simply a ratio of the total plays on 1st and 2nd down divided by the number of run plays in those down and distance sections. So, if there are more pass plays earlier in your play calling script (how the plays are sequenced), then you will pass more. Also, keep in mind the inside your opponent's red zone and inside their 6 yard line situations will override the 1st and 10 scripts. My best advise to truly learn game planning is to test in a test league. You would need to find a team with the same OC style and at least as many plays in his play limit. That way, you can export and import your IFL playbook and GP into the test league. It also is helpful to have similar players so that you can gauge the effectiveness of the GP. I normally conduct my tests in a multi-player game so players can be traded to mirror similar talent.

The double cover question is one of those "fog of war" questions I'm not sure anyone except Jim knows the real answer. One possible explanation is that your opponent's fatigue is involved and the WR loses effectiveness. Thus, the best WR on one play may be different on the next play because he loses rating points due to being tired. Disclaimer - that's a guess so don't take that as gospel. But if we know all of the answers, the game would be boring.

With regard to your FG question, sometimes the HC overrides your instructions (similar to the instructions to "Go on 4th Down". "Always" does not mean "always" in this game.
