    Another cry for donations.

    I have about a month and a half left before I need to move the site to another host. I am not sticking with Shieldhost for another 3 months.

    I have been looking today at many different choices and am currently leaning towards Lunarpages hosting (lunarpages.com). It was recommended by Vito and after doing a bunch of research itseems to have a stellar reputation, including excellent support via ticket system, board, and phone.

    There are a couple of others I am looking at too, just because lunarpages only gives you 1 MySQL database which would be taken by this board right away. I would need more if we get te website Vito is working on. That would cost extra so I am looking for a host that offers more. It's funny, because out current host has about everything I would want except they are unreliable.

    Anyways, lunarpages costs $95 a year. The others I am looking at will be in that area. I could use the help guys if anyone wants to give. PM me if you want to, you can do it via PayPal or I can give you my address and you could send a money order.

    Thats about it. As I said before I am uncomfortable even asking, but I kind of need to right now.

    Allin1websolutions.com is another host I am looking at. Many guys over at FOFC have said they are great, and I have not heard anything bad about them.

    Plus, they have the extra MySQL databases we may need. Two other bonuses, I can pay monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, or annually. And they take paypal as a payment method.

          I think I am 90% sure I will go with allin1websolutions now. Hell, i emailed a question of to their support desk and I got a response with in a hour. I haven't even given them money yet, and that is way better then others I have done that with. this holds true to the reputation of excellent customer service..... plus they take PayPal and give 10 databases.

              I use allin1 based on Jeff's recommendation. I've had zero issues with my site and their tech support has been top notch.

                Nice to hear another happy customer before I go with them.

                I am thinking of paying for the site possibly next weekend, and then starting to set hings up for a move after the weekend following that.

                This will obviously create another downtime for the site as the URL is propogated, so I will try to do it on a Monday, so that things are set up and running as normal on the new site by thursday or friday of that week. We will probably go with an email system again for exports that week.

                  I will be paying for the server space on Monday, with allin1websolutions.

                  any last second donations would be helpful, not a whole lot more is needed thanks to the guys who have donated.

                    hosting services from allin1 have been paid for. I went with six months right now for two reasons.

                    1. It would have taken 3-4 days for my money to be put into my PayPal account. If I had known this I would have done it last week. I think it is dumb that others can put money in right away, but for me it takes 3-4 days. Without a little extra money we did not have enough for a full year and I wanted to get this process started today.

                    2. 6 months is long enough that I don't have to worry about renewing it in a month or two, but is also short enough just incase this host ends up not working out.

                    Although I am already getting great support from them this morning, I am very impressed after having such a crap host for over a year now. As far as 6 months from now, we almost have enough left over to cover that payment already. 1 or 2 small donations would be nice, but there is no rush. If no more donations come in, I will cover it no problem.

                    I really appreciate the guys who have donated. We had a total of 7 guys donate various amounts, and several others said they would soon or down the road a bit.
