Someone on the FOFC boards brought up the idea of an FOF wiki site, and I thought it was a good idea so I made up a little prototype. If you are not familiar with wikis, they are sites that are freely editable by all users. It allows for the creation of encyclopedia-type sites without the need of a central authority. The idea is that the official documentation that comes along with FOF is inadequate and hard to use, and the information contained at FOFC is spread throughout the site and hard to find. With the wiki, the eventual idea would be that you could search for "QB style" and a page would come up telling you everything we know and everything we think about what QB style means. The user could then read what is there and even add stuff if he thinks the page is lacking.

If anyone is interested, I am asking for people in the league to beta test it a little and see if it is something they would be interested in. To edit a page, just click on the "edit text of this page" link and edit it like you would a post. Links to pages that do not exist yet have a linked '?' after them. To create a new page, click on that '?' and edit the page. Click the WikiTutorial link on the first page for more info on formatting and what not.

    Known issues:

1 - The server it is on executes CGI programs very slowly. If the idea takes off I can possibly get its own host (or if anyone out there can donote web space, that would be great!)

The way it is set up now, everyone is a mod. Passwords to edit could be implemented in the future.

The LA times idea was terrible to begin with. Wiki's do not work well for opinion-oriented pieces, they are suited more for fact-driven applications.
