Injuries/contracts...

Edmund Peacock, my 95+ ovr DT is asking for a rediculously low $7.8M TOTAL for a restructured 5 year contract when his current contract is for 5 years at about $8M PER SEASON. He was injured for all but 2 games last season and I remember reading Sovstar saying something about Cartegena not wanting a big contract now after being injured last season. Are injuries considered THAT serious to warrant such a rediculous drop in salary or is this a bug or something?

It is not a bug, when players miss almost a whole season they will take a reduced deal.

When players get injured, their injury rating (which is not shown in-game) takes a hit, and it is a better chance that they get hurt in the future. I wouldn't be surprised if Peacock either gets hurt again or holds out in the future for a better contract if he stays healthy. Right now though he is willing to take $1 million guaranteed to prove himself.

If it is the offer when you first open the salary screen, tht is what he is asking for, so he wouldn't reject it.

if that's true then my game is broken because i have guys reject that first offer all the time...not in single-player but in multiplayer

For example, Virgil McIver is asking for 18.99 over 5 years - I click "offer contract" and he "turned down a contract offer" so I offered 19.99 and he turned it down again...if I'm the only one this is happening to, I'd like to know why...it ends up costing me a lot more to sign my own players.

Um..yeah.. what version of FOF do you have?

Click on the Solecismic icon farthest to the right on your toolbar. You should have version 5.1c. But I'd say it's a 99.5% chance you don't.

Soystar...you got it... I've got 5.1c now and it's obvious why they've been rejecting the offers - they actually want more than I've been looking at.
