  • Offseason Schedule

Ok, here is what I am thinking for a schedule for this offseason. sovstar has said he would be willing to do some simming for us, and Suicane may be doing some if he is unable to. This is of course when I am not home. I am looking into taking a week of vacation during this time, but I am not sure if I will.

This is from the start of the playoffs, until Week 1 of the 2005 season. The end, which is the preseason games, if one thing that is really up in the air right now. That is a holiday weekend, and I may or may not head up to Houston for a baseball game that monday, so that could slightly change the timetable for those games. Hopefully we can work that out though.

I know this is a pretty aggressive schedule, but I love it that way. This is also just a draft for now. sovstar and Suicane will be in charge of the times they do sims during the week when I am gone. And they may wish to change days around, I have not consulted them on this yet. Also, if it is found this is too aggressive, we may have to back it off some.

As for the draft, I will let it start as soon as the Draft Preview is out on early FA Week 1. There will be no clock, but if guys want to pick they can. If this can not be handled by the utility (having no time limit, and then later having one), we can start on the board. I think only a handfull of picks will be made before we start the clock anyways.

Some changes to the early and late FA stages have already been made, along with the no time limit portion of our draft.

Feel free to make your opinion known.

As of right this second, because I don't want to go to work, I am thinking I will take a week of vacation the first or second week of May, this could change the schedule a little, I will know for sure this weekend.

I am taking the first week of May off. That means I can speed things up some by having a stage every day that week. That means we should be able to get the draft started a little earlier, and either a) let us get through the whole offseason a little bit faster or b)give us a couple extra days to finish the draft.

No one has said anything about this being to fast/ to slow. Once it is started I don't want complaints that you could have given me now.

Alrighty, schedule is revised. Should be the final time, or near it.

            Any other changes are minor.

What changed this time is I made a sim every day for the first week. This gets us to start the draft just a bit earlier, and we will be able to take out time on it. So maybe we can relax the time limits some, I think we see how that goes. We all need to expect some kind of time limit though, and prepare yourself now that we will be using the draft utility.

The other change is that I wanted to keep with a consistant schedule. During the week (when I am gone) sims will be done on Wednesday's and Thursday's by sovstar. That means near the end of this offseason, Training Camp has been bumped up from a Saturday to a Thursday. That also allows for us to get through the preseason in a way that I like a lot better, starting on a Saturday and finishing on Tuesday with a Wednesday FA stage. Then we go into a normal schedule with week 1 of the regular season.

Only problem I see with this is I will need someone to make an export for the Toads for Training Camp.

TALK TO ME ABOUT THIS SCHEDULE PEOPLE!! Atleast say "Yup, looks O.K. to me." or tell me if you have a problem with it.

As usual it is better than we deserve.

A HUGE thanks in advance to Cringer and everyone else who will be helping with the offseason. It has to be a ton of effort and I for one appreciate it. Not a job I would want too do, but thanks to yall we have us a viable league here in the IFL.

I noticed something that kinda sucks. . .

I'm talking trades already, and I don't know what is available in the draft. No problem, the season hasn't ended right?

The issue is that the draft preview isn't out until the 5th, and then FA starts on the 7th, and draft starts on 10th. Basically that leaves us with two days to get a gameplan together, and 3 days to implement our FA plan before the draft. Granted the the draft starts untimed, but it doesn't give us much room for everything.

In order to keep the offseason moving along, which everyone wants, maybe we should post the draft file early, let everyone have a chance to take a look at it to see what is available.

Keep in mind that the further Cringer pushes back those first few FA stages, the less he'll be able to be involved with them (either by doing the sim or making an export for his team).

The draft file is randomized every time it is imported. A player could be an 85 or a 35 on different imports. In five different imports, a top guy might be a top 10 selection 3 times, a bust once, and in the middle once. You might be able to get a decent idea of what positions will be deep, but not much other than that.
