Rookie QB Leroy Taylor pulls out a victory in his first NFL start. He actually looked pretty good, until the familiars kicked in, then the offense as a whole stalled. Not sure if Texas even submitted a file. Their starting QB was on the bench with a minor injury. However, I'll take a division win, regardless of the circumstances.

After falling behind 9-0 midway through the second quarter the Whalers offense finally came to life and scored TDs in 3 out of 4 possessions

The Vipers rallied late in the game, but the Whalers defense held them in check for the win...

This off season took a big bite out of my team as most of my vets took huge hits to their ratings..so its good to see these senior citizens mustering up a win in the first game especially over the defending champions.

Also glad to see my 1.2 pick that I sold the future for going over a 100 yards and a TD in his first game even though it took 34 carries. Hopefully, next week he can put up bigger numbers.

Hillery started the season with an outstanding game (28-22, 271 yards and 4 TDs) to key our 41 - 7 home opener win. And he had help from our 2 stud rookies, RB Hayden Stuvaints (112 rushing yards) and WR Wade Peterson (5 catches for 74 yards, 1 TD).

This is going to be a long year. Teams have gotten better and we are sliding downhill. Not a good start for us.
