2070 Staff Draft Rules and Form

If you do not submit a Staff Draft Form I will proceed with STAFF FINISHES DRAFT (reverts to the regular in game staff draft).

Seems like an unfortunate response when a Commish schedules a draft at midnight his time (and a suitable hour for US folks) accepts suggestions live and takes answers from a form, gave us a week to get forms in. Plus, you got one of the top candidates for a HC role (based on bar importance for HCs). Not to mention we don't have to suffer the in game staff draft.

I'm sorry you lost one of your staff members, if that's what happened. I think there is currently only one league (NAFL) using the in-game staff draft entirely, and the reason is the lack of control we have over our destiny as GMs relying on the AI alone.

That said, the live staff only adds another layer in the process (in my opinion a needed one for most GMs since the in-game process is extremely arbitrary and random), if a GM does not submit a form the game reverts to the in-game file you guys send. Ultimately, the result of the draft is the info contained in the forms for those who submit them and the in-game file for those who don't.

The coach had nothing to do with it. Ive tried for 2 seasons to hire a WC OC. It just keeps the same coaches I have. Im not mad. I simply do not like it. these guys are blowing this shit way out of proportion

What happened then is the AI didn't consider any good options for a move from Balanced (which is what you currently have) to WC. None of the 10 teams that sent a form (Murfreesboro, State College, Alaska, Tijuana, San Antonio, Las Vegas, Montreal, Colorado, Columbia and Pittsburgh) nor the only one who attended the draft only (McAllen) signed a WC coordinator.

I know for a fact the WC OC population in this league is dreadful, I was looking to replace mine but the only good option was promoted to HC by the AI (LAS OC to LAS HC).

So you are saying I can't run the offense i want to run. That makes alot of sense

No, what I'm saying is that the fact that you didn't get a WC OC has nothing to do with the live draft, but with the fact that the AI didn't find a suitable WC replacement since there are no good WC coordinators. If we had used the in-game draft you would have gotten the exact same result as none of the GMs who submitted a form hired a WC OC and I reverted to your exported file.

That's why we moved to a form-based staff draft, the AI is abysmal at handling GM preferences as it does not adequately account for the style/bar combinations submit.

Oh this is good, now we know what the situation is.

You'll be able to change your OC to WC next year by either combing through the staff pool and picking specific WC OCs and noting those as your choices (though as Rode said, the pool for that particular scheme is weak at the moment) - if none of those are amenable or they are all just undesired you can simply opt for 'Any WC OC with scouting/interviewing/play calling bar as priority' and the options will be scrolled through live on the staff draft and the best fit for that will be chosen. All of those options are available already in the Google Form. Then you will be able to run the offense you desire, without relying on the judgement of the AI (which as Rode says is unreliable and up to this point has not yielded you the changes you wanted).

And nothing has changed. Whenever I do finally quit the live staff draft will be the reason why. you guys blew this so fucking far out the water. This is not an unfortunate statement, but i quit because of the live staff draft and you guys digging in my ass over nothing

Im just trying to quit in peace. You guys are not changing my mind. I dont like the live staff draft. Why is it so hard to believe that I dont ike it. Im not trying to convince anyone to not like it. Everyone quits and they dont tell you why. I just merely told you why. Not everyone likes it just because you do.
