Overall pleased with the draft, but not gonna lie did not plan on going C and FB with first 2 picks - lol
1.10 Hardy Mason, C, Hawaii – The NJ native will start from day 1 in Murfreesboro. There were other options at 1.10 but the Mason selection will allow the veteran guards to play outside hopefully giving the Mules a top 10 OL
2.11 Peter Bruener, FB, Hawaii – second Hawaii product for the Mules this draft. Bruener might not start from day 1 but will probably unseat Rayburn shortly after that.
3.10 traded to Fresno for DE Beauchamp. Beauchamp will start immediately in Murfreesboro. Hoping he can fulfill his current contract at the minimum. (Fresno selected FL Egbert who appears to be having some issues before Fresno TC)
4.11 Dustin Price, RB, Clemson – Price had difficulty with the position drill at the combine. Regardless the RB job will be his to lose heading into TC
5.10 Levon Cole, TE, Oregon – Cole looks to be a nice BU TE. Not what I was hoping for but unless he busts in TC will make the team.
6.04 Reuben Strouse, DE, Hawaii – Ruben will need a strong TC, or some of the veteran will need bad ones, in order to make the Mules. Does not look like a good candidate to move to LB either. 6.04 acquired by trading MLB Howard to StLouis
6.11 Howard Franz, DT, Purdue – Howards run stopping will probably put him on the 53 man roster.
7.10 Seth Mentzer, RT, Ohio State – Seth is defiantly on the bubble going into TC. Will need a really good camp to make the Mules
7.23 Mercury Couture, SE, Dartmouth – Mercury is also on the bubble going into TC. His willingness to play ST might be the difference for him. Pick acquired by trading QB Anthony to London.
