Those were Coach Mills' words after the Grizzlies sealed their first win this season.
The Grizzlies defeated Anchorage Sunday by a score of 17-10, but that was misleading as the Grizzlies dominated after the 10:00 mark of the 2nd quarter.
After Mac Breland's electifying kick return after the Lynx went up 10-7, the Grizzlies appeared to be moving towards a game tying score, but it was not to be. On the ANC 20, Rookie first round pick Kyle Hartman gave up a sack, and Scott Nelson fumbled the ball, which was recovered by Anchorage.
The Griz appeared lifeless until the 3rd quarter. Then, they marched 80 yards for the go ahead score. The defense then clamped down for the rest of the game. With just over two minutes to go, the Griz made the game a 7 point affair with a Booher FG to make it 17-10.
The Grizzlies set team records for fewest yards allowed (194) and most passing yards (257). Hopefully, these records will not stand the test of time. "We made some mistakes, which we hope we can fix." Coach Mills said in the post-game press conference, if this game requires fixing, then, we're all for needing it!
