Potiental is the key word here. If Oakland is able to keep this group together, they have the potiental to be on of the best ever. With last years safty tatum of Davey and McLaughlin moving to CB this year, the trade bringing FS Edelstein, and Delisle moving to SS, this could be the best backfield in the IFL.
LCB Joshua McLaughlin
Half of the "Ironman" duo, one of the few players last year to start all 16 games, McLaughlin was nonetheless unimpressive last year, getting no picks, and having 27 passes caught against him. With the move to CB, we don't expect him to improve much this year learning the position, however, in the future, we have high hopes of big games to come.
RCB Patrick Davey
The other half of the "Ironman" duo, Patrick Davey was equally unimpressive last year, registering only one pick, and having 27 caught against him. Moving to RCB this year, it will be another lean year as he learns the position.
SS Conrad Delisle
Only starting 5 games last year, Delisle was nonetheless impressive, returning one for a TD, and teams tended to throw away from his side. He moves to SS this year, and we expect he will feel right at home here for a long time to come.
FS Stephen Edelstein
Acquired in a trade with Wichita, not much is known about Edelstein, however, word from the Oakland front office is, they are exicted to get him for the low price of a backup QB. He will be a staple in the defensive backfield for years to come.
