After 5 seasons leading Oakland, Britt Hatcher was not resigned, instead Oakland put their number in the hat for 36 year old phemon Timmy Haith. Putting their money where their mouth is, Haith signed a 5 year deal making him only the 3rd head coach in Oaklands 7 year history. We had a chance to talk to General Manager Jave this afternoon:
Britt (Hatcher) was outstanding, one of the most intelligent football minded guys to ever coach the game, but he is 70 years old and the Oakland organization needed to consider their future. Coaches like Haith only come along every decade and with Hatchers age, we had to make a move and get him into the organization. We are sure to run into Britt on the golf coarse this summer and he will probably take a role with the organization once he retires.
In no less important news, both defensive and offensive coordinator's Stanly Moore and Ricardo Redd have resigned 5 year deals, locking up the entire coaching staff for another 5 years.
