Oakland has fired the teams lead scout, Fred Jamison. He was the last remaining member of the coaching staff from the leagues beganning, 4 years ago. General manager Jave comments, " it's time to move in a new direction. He did a good job for us while he was here, however we were looking to go with a younger staff that could really be on the cutting edge of the leagues young talent, and Fred was not really what this team was looking for this year."
Like 2 years ago when Oakland hired both a new offensive and defensive coordinator, the Assassins have gone the path less traveled, by selecting a new up and commer in 35 year old A.J. Patterson.

In bigger news, the Assassins have retained the services of head coach Britt Hatcher. After 2 miserable seasons, fighting injuries and inexperience, Britt had his most successful season, taking the team to the IFL bowl, only to lose by one point with 28 seconds remaining.
Unfazed by this setback, Britt signed a 3 year deal, (rumored to be somewhere in the range of 6 million a year), despite hitting his 67th birthday this year, to bring the team to it's ultimate goal of being IFL Champions.
