HORSETOOTH, CO — The Horsetooth Ogres followed up last week’s road win with their best showing yet, rolling past the Tijuana Tequila Worms 43–10 on a cool, calm night at home.
This one swung early behind quarterback Rodney Ingram, who picked apart the Worms’ secondary and kept the offense moving all night. Ingram threw for 349 yards and two touchdowns, added a rushing score, and repeatedly flipped the field with big plays as Horsetooth built a 34–10 halftime lead and never looked back
The highlight came midway through the first quarter when Ingram hit Buddy Lane for a 72-yard touchdown, setting the tone for an offense that averaged more than eight yards per pass play. He later found Wendell Kamphaus in the end zone and capped the first half with a nine-yard touchdown run of his own
The defense did its part as well, forcing three interceptions and limiting a Tijuana team that entered the week at 6–2 to just one offensive touchdown. A fumble return score by Javier Mathis in the second quarter helped break the game open, and from there the Ogres were content to control possession and let the clock work in their favor.
For a franchise that spent years stuck at the bottom of the standings, this was another clear step forward. At 5–3, Horsetooth isn’t sneaking up on anyone anymore — and with Ingram in rhythm, the Ogres are starting to look comfortable playing good teams, not just hanging around with them for moral victories.
