AP-QB Chris Chaplin will start at QB this weekend when Tulsa comes to NJ. Chaplin is suffering from a hyperextended knee suffered 2 weeks ago. "Mr. Soprano said that it would be in my best intrest to start this game," said Chaplin."I hope he's right!?!"
Newark has been plagued by injuries and inconsistancies thus far. With a record at 5-5 the playoffs are not out of the question. If this injury bug goes away, Newark could be back on track to make a playoff run. An astounding 10 players show up on the injury report this week.
Early in the season the Bulldogs were dominating on the defensive side of the ball. In the last few games the defense has had little to brag about. Star DE Justin Jones has a simple solution. "We gotta stop the run,yo! Everything else will take care of itself. We can't continue to give up the runs and have our opponents in 3rd and short all the time. This leads to easy 3rd down conversions."
