  • Toads Risk Top 10 Run Defense, Trade Woods.

Little Rock, AR. In a bit of a surprise move, the Little Rock Toads have traded defensive tackle Tod Woods to the Pittsburgh Power. Woods, obtained this time last off-season in the infamous JaveGate trade, spent only one season with the Toads.

Woods will be entering only his third seaso in the league and will be on his third team, he was with Oakland in his rookie year. The Toads received in return for Woods, defensive tackle Cedrick Lemos and wide receiver Randolph Kennedy. Lemos is a seven year veteran out of Navy, who has started 23 of 26 games he has played in for Pittsburgh over the last two seasons. There is a question about his durability, but when healthy is a pretty effective tackle. The big prize of the deal for the Toads was WR Randolph Kennedy though.

In his 24 starts the last two seasons for Pittsburgh, Kennedy has 1716 yards receiving on 111 receptions, with 11 TD's. Kennedy is also the only player in Imperial League history to have two 200 yard receiving games in his career, both last season. He is entering his 4th season in pro ball, and the final year of his contract. Kennedy will join Olin Holst in the starting lineup at WR. That makes last years starting SE, Richard Hathcock, the number three receiver. The Toads will now have a dangerous 3 wide out set when needed, something they lacked in 2004. And if someone goes down, like Holst at the end of 2004, they will still have two solid guys at WR.
