seriously though, I'm happy for you. It's not easy leaving a company that you work for, this I know.
I may be in a similar situation where I could be leaving to something completely different.
Currently I'm working in manufacturing in an automotive plastics facility which makes parts for mostly Honda and Toyota. Things are pretty good here, for the most part. I'm basically #3 on the depth chart here. An acquantance of mine has offered me a job in cpu software sales. This would involve selling software to places like the best buy's or walmart's of the worlds. The base salary would be higher and I'd get commission money also. Based on my smooth personality, good looks, and charm, I should be successful. Another plus, is that I'd work from home most of the time. However, I'm struggling with leaving the "nest" / comfort zone. We'll see how this all turns out.

Thanks for the good vibes you guys are sending my way man. (to play off of Jeff calling me a hippy)
I sent off the paperwork Monday. Now I have my interview tomorrow (Sunday) evening.
As for the comment on references, I thought of Suicane, but the wife said NO because they would call when he was on the weed and he would say some things that may not be very helpful.
And as for putting Commish on my resume, I should have but I didn't. Although, my 'inside guy' who put in the good reference for me knows all about FOF.
And as for being proactive in my career, I wouldn't really call it that too much. This was kind of dropped into my lap. That goes to the comment above this one. A guy from FOFC told me about it because of some joking comment I made a while back and he remember.
More on the job if I get it though.....
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.
I've been thinking what kind of job this could be, and might I just say that if it involves hauling circus equipment from town to town, I am so gonna learn juggling.
I hope so. From what I heard they did advertise, where I am not sure though. Also from what I understand it is a pretty small company as far as employees, so I hope one of them recommending me has a big enough impact for me.
