    haha.

Fresno beats Houston 3-0. FG came with 2:33 left in the game.

Both AFC and NFC defending champs are now 0-3. Madison did go back to Loving though I see.

Wow that was a close game Columbia. As Yoda said, Dewitt was the key. The old man just keeps on toting the rock, Poteat is waiting in the wings in case of injury, but he will not get any game time soon.

Desmond Wolf our first round CB got his first INT of the year. Although, we did not hold Cartagena in check we still got the W. Our kicker Christmas has been money this year and last.

I think the big game breaker came from Bosco's 42 yard fumble return. With all of Columbia's speed how do they not catch a 300 DT? I am glad they did not and that is the Orlando magic coming back this season. We have never started 3-0.

Next up Oakland. This is a road game and their first home game. That is going to be a tough game. One of us will walk away with our first loss. Another tough one for the Pirates. How the hell are we gonna tell who is on what team? Battle of the black jerseys.

Hmmm...wonder if Jeff responds before tonight? Something about 2 strippers and I forgot the rest of what he said.......

Not to start the focus on next week already, but you are right Kurt. Orlando at Oakland is one hell of a game next week.

When I downloaded the games I kept psyching myself up to see us at 2-1. Imagine my glee when I saw 3-0 on top of my division with Lansing and Pittsburgh in 2nd at 1-2. My defense had no INT's, no sacks, no turnovers this week, but has held the opposition to 10 points or less the last three games. Andrews outperformed Carmack this week with 106 yards rushing. The media named Alvarez the player of the game but it could have been Corso just as easy, or Hooten for evenly distributing the ball. Reading the logs of Dakota is alot like watching the Patriots. They first down you to death with dinks here and runs there. So far the offenses we have played have been conservative. Time will tell if we can really play with the big dogs... Have the chance to really put some distance between us and Pittsburgh next week. But then we get... Columbia.

After Pittsburgh, your next four games starting with Columbia like you said, are all against the NFC South. All 4 of us pretty much lean on the pass more right now I would say, but with good enough RB's that you have to respect that part of the game.

The standings are definetly pretty interesting now after week 3. But after two seasons for this league, I am pretty hard pressed to think they will stay this way. To much season left still. I started strong last year and then faded to barely make the playoffs. I would think Madison, Albuquerque, and probably Hartford will start to turn things around some. And no offense to some of the first plce teams, as it is nice to see them doing well, I can't imagine they will all stay on top. Or even make the playoffs.

First loss of the year actually doesn't feel ok. . .

My lack of a receiving corp haunted Chaplin, and was literally the key to the loss for me. Stoll had a good day but my starting WRs were 2 for 11. Wish how I couple plug my rookies in to see how they would have done.

Receiving Target Caught Dropd Yards PassPlay
              82 Stoll 7 5 1 63 26
              86 Mosqueda 6 1 0 9 27
              89 Harris 5 1 1 6 29

Beamer had a huge day, comparable to classic Tart numbers.

Rushing Att Yards Avg Long TD
              42 Beamer 18 122 6.7 70 2
Receiving Catch Yards Avg YAC Long TD
              42 Beamer 3 26 8.6 13 15 0

I couldn't play around with my game planning much this week since my eyes still can't focus very good on the screen, so my D was very run oriented from my matchup with Pitt. But I think with a few tweaks, my D could challenge just about any team in the IFL.

Good Game Norfolk, you got me this time, but you better hope we don't meet again this year.

Yea, the Vipers are catching a few by surprise this year & the chances are strong that there might be another meeting for us down the road. We have always been a good team but have played in the shadows of W Virginia, Hartford and Boston. The team is now maturing & seems to have found a way to hold their own but ...

my DLine is battle worn (gave up that 70 yard run to Beamer) and my RB Brown is now injured.

Don't know if this ride will continue ... but will continue to use scissors and tape to keep pace. Off-week isn't even in sight!

                        finally a win...

A win is a win no matter who the opponent. (what happened to Hartford this season). My team still tried to give the game away, 10 penalties for 55 yards! Latham #s were a little better this game but they were inflated by screen passes going for some good yards. Next three games are killer

AT St. Louis (i know they are gunning for me)
AT Wichita (tough division game which always causes problems)
AT Montreal (surpising Montreal always gives me fits)

Hopefully I can come out of this 3 game stretch with a record of 3-3 and take it from there.

Believe me I am already focused on it. I was concerned about Columbia, but now that is done so it is on to Oakland "The Real Deal" Annihilators. They score a lot of points.

I am happy we got through Columbia without any new injuries. After Oakland we get 2 home games and then a bye. After the bye week we should get Dalton "Little Big Man" Williams back at DE. He is our best athelete on the line and our only sub 300 pounder at 260. Hynes has an incredible health streak going. Crossing our fingers he holds up.

The Phantoms improve to 2-1, good enough for last place in the NFC East, which as a whole now has 1 loss to non-divisional opponents.

Good game Morellomre. Your team didn't seem to have too much of a sense of urgency at the end though. Going for the FG when down by 14 with 5:30 minutes left and then punting after recovering a fumble on the ensuing kickoff???
